“Small Masjid, Big Heart”
History of Masjid
Located in the Town of Boonton in Morris County, New Jersey, Jamia Masjid Boonton was established in the nineteen eighties. It is a non-profit religious organization serving the Muslim community of Boonton and its surrounding areas. Its purpose is to uphold and maintain all practices in accordance with the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ). The organization is run by the American Muslims Association (AMA) and local volunteers.
Since its establishment Jamia Masjid Boonton has gone from being a masjid solely for prayers to an organization providing: full funeral services, Sunday School, Saturday Halaqa, Dhikr Mehfils and much more.
By the Grace of Allah (SWT), over the years, the Muslim community in Boonton and its surrounding towns has increased exponentially. Jamia Masjid Boonton has paved the way for its community members to establish masjids in many areas of New Jersey. The AMA and dedicated volunteers work in harmony to build and sustain a progressive religious and cultural environment for fulfilling our spiritual and social needs.
